DrainTeck LLC ("DrainTeck," "we," "us," or "our") provides drain cleaning, hydro jetting, camera inspection, sewer line, grease trap, and related plumbing services to residential and commercial clients throughout the Cedar Valley, Iowa area. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, client portal, and in the course of providing services, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to www.drainteck.com and our client portal.

By using our website, submitting a form, booking a service, or creating a portal account, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Contact form submissions — your name, phone number, email address (optional), the service you're asking about, and your message.
• Quote and booking requests — your name, phone number, email address, service address, city, the type of service requested, your preferred date and time, and any notes about the job.
• Client portal account information — email or phone number, password, and, if you register without an invoice invite code, the service address and account number we use to verify you're an existing client.
• Job application information — if you apply for a position with us, your name, email, phone number, position of interest, message, and resume file.
• Communications — records of calls, texts, and emails between you and our team, including notes our staff take about your service history.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality — for example, to keep you signed in to the client portal. We may also use analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, general navigation patterns) so we can improve it. These tools may use cookies and, in the case of Microsoft Clarity, may capture anonymized session and interaction data. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes and estimates;
• Schedule, confirm, and perform the services you request;
• Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and updates by text message and/or email;
• Let you know when your technician is on the way, including a link to view their live location for the duration of your service call (see "Live Technician Tracking" below);
• Process invoices and payments;
• Maintain your service history so we can serve you better on future visits;
• Operate and maintain your client portal account;
• Evaluate job applications;
• Improve our website and services; and
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following types of service providers, solely to help us operate our business, and only to the extent needed for them to provide their service to us:

• Twilio — to send appointment confirmation and reminder text messages, and technician arrival notifications.
• SendGrid — to send email notifications.
• Stripe — to process card payments through a secure, hosted payment page. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly.
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — for website analytics, as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DrainTeck, our clients, or others.

Text Messaging (SMS)

By providing your phone number when requesting a quote, booking a service, or through your portal account, you consent to receive text messages from DrainTeck related to your service request — including confirmations, reminders, and technician arrival updates. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by contacting us using the information below. Opting out of text messages may limit our ability to notify you of appointment times and technician arrival.

Live Technician Tracking

When your technician is on the way to your appointment, we may text you a link that shows their live location on a map so you can see when to expect them. This link is unique to your appointment, expires automatically after a few hours, and is deactivated once the job is complete. It shows the location of our technician and vehicle — it does not collect or use your location.

Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all site traffic, hashed and salted password storage for portal accounts, and role-based access controls that limit which staff can view sensitive client information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Data Retention

We retain client and service information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain accurate service history and records, meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. Job application information is retained for a reasonable period to support our hiring process.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Opt out of text or email notifications at any time (note that this may affect our ability to notify you about appointments);
• Update your contact information and notification preferences from your client portal account;
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information we hold about you; and
• Ask us what information we have on file, or request that we delete information we're not otherwise required to keep, by contacting us using the information below.

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults arranging service for a home or business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
